Last week I had the pleasure of “window-shopping” at one of Dallas’s premier high-end furniture and accessory retail store….J Douglas Designs. When I walked into this establishment, I instantly fell in love with the over the top luxurious and eclectic furniture and accessories. There are not too many times where I have the luxury of window shopping in a high-end store, so I relished the moment by taking photographs that I can share with you…..enjoy the tour!
This lamp is unique in that the custom cut-outs are designed to fit the hanging crystals. Can you imagine the subtle glow that these lamps give off at night. How romantic!
I absolutely love this mirror. Acutally, it is two mirrors with the star shaped mirror being adhered to the larger mirror. You can duplicate this look with any mirrors you may have in your home. Just be sure to use a very strong adhesive to prevent the second mirror from falling off the bottom mirror. If you look hard enough, you can see me in the mirror…LOL!
This sofa would be perfect in a transistional, modern or eclectic space. Although I am not a fan of the throw pillows, they can however, be easily changed out to reflect your personal color scheme in your space.
Mirrors are very important in a space. They bring a level of class and sophistication while giving the impression of a larger space. Unique mirrors such as this one can command attention in a space without overbearing the rest of the room.
Good lighting is another design staple. Task lighting is very important in a space and this lamp makes a luxurious statement. This lamp is attached to the wall with a very unique iron scroll work. Not sure that you will see this lamp in your local Walmart store.
Upholstered headboards are all the rage this season. This headboard with its’ intricate design and wood surround makes this headboard a piece of art in any bedroom.

Ottomans and footstools serve a purpose far more than just a place to rest your feet. These ottomans and footstools can be focal points in a space because of their custom fabric, detailing and decorative accessories. This first ottoman looks like a palette of river rock pebbles. This fabric is deceiving in that when you touch the fabric you are expecting to feel a hard rocky surface, but it is smooth to the touch. I love all the nail head detail work on the bottom of the ottoman.
Who can not stand to use a little whimsy in their décor? This bench with its “xoxo” patterned fabric will add that whimsical flair to any décor. This bench would be a perfect accent piece in an entry foyer space….perfect for greeting your guests.
And this last ottoman was a show stopper for me. Being a fan of anything elegant and sophisticated, this bench has everything I would want in an ottoman. I love how the rope detailing and the decorative piece in the middle adds to the understated elegance of this ottoman. This ottoman is clearly made for decoration only. Can you blame them?….LOL!!!
