This master bedroom design retreat was a birthday present to myself and my hubby. I am currently in the process of transitioning my home design style from “Old World” to a more transitional design style. With that being said, this is the first space in my home I was able to redecorate this year due to my hectic and busy design schedule.
I think I achieved what I desired for the space because now, my hubby spends more time in this space versus his “man cave”…LOL! If you want to see the making of this space, please check out the video at this link….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JMxS3feklc&feature=share&list=UUdEXkIPNF7Ytx0ny6eifE1w.

Hi Tamela. Glad I found your website! . I always come back to this room. Not sure if it’s the layout, or the colors, but it speaks to me. I’m thinking about replicating this look in my master bedroom. What are your thoughts on using one long rod to a continuous wall treatment instead of breaking it down to two smaller ones, as in the picture. Although, I like the way this frames the bed very nicely.
Thanks,
Sandi
Hello Sandi! Thanks for visiting my website. I think that one wall of continuous fabric would look great with the design concept. I have allergies so using so much fabric in the space (especially behind my bed) would be an allergy nightmare for me…LOL! However, if you do decide to have a wall of continuous fabric, I would suggest for a fabric with a flowy feeling for softness. In addition, try to get the window hardware as close to the ceiling as possible. This would make the space feel taller and set the stage for your bed. Hope this helps! Take care and don’t forget to “Decorate your home to tell your story”….

Thank you for your prompt response Tamela. I have found that raising the ceiling hardware a couple of inches makes a world of difference!
